Cleaning Caterpillar Heavy Equipment Parts

Cleaning Heavy EquipmentMost of the people who work in the construction field think the tender and invoice to the client are the keys to getting the income. I’m not saying it’s wrong but sometimes most of the people ignore one thing that has the same impact. We always find tons of excuse when it comes to the heavy equipment maintenance. The effect from that can cost you a lot more in some cases.

We can’t deny the fact that the heavy equipment is the source of dirt and filth that makes them more and more neglected. Maybe the only person who cares is the operator because he has to work with it. Well, it’s impossible to keep out the earth moving the machine in the dirt. Therefore, most of the people think that cleaning heavy equipment is just another waste of time. Let’s say you clean it today and it will be covered by the dirt again the very next usage.

On the other hand, most of the people assume it’s okay as long as the heavy equipment is properly oiled and is kept running. Big no! Cleaning the heavy equipment is extremely important. Not cleaning them properly can lead to serious damage that may force you to spend a fortune to replace vital part or a sudden breakdown. Caterpillar Parts can be very expensive if you have to buy them! I’m not saying you need to clean it every day but at least do the cleaning twice a week. This will lengthen its life and do a little pleasing to the eye.

Make Use Of A Power Wash Machine

Cleaning the heavy equipment is time-consuming if you do it with only your own hands. It’s a lot of easier if you use a power wash machine. You can either do the cleaning yourself or assign it to the operator. This powerful machine will remove the dirt on the heavy equipment. If neither, you or the operator is not familiar with the power wash machine yet, you can read the manual first. Therefore, you can execute the process neatly and steadily.

Keep in mind that you need to set the power washer on the high pressure setting. It will produce high-pressure water that can dilute the dirt and reach the inner part of the heavy equipment. As you know that the inner part of the equipment is the source of dirt and grease. So, it’s important to set the power washer on the high pressure in order to get the power and hit the right target area properly. In addition, you can add some detergent that helps you degrease the dirt easily with the foam.

Furthermore, using warm water is more effective than cold water. Warm water cleans faster and easier in this case. However, the water should not the boiling water. Just set the water temperature in mild warm, not too cold or hot. Just as I mentioned earlier, it’s best to do the cleaning twice a week. If you leave out the heavy equipment covered in the dirt more than one month, the dirt will be hardened and make it difficult to wash.
